GENERAL JEWELRY CARE

You bought a beautiful handcrafted piece of fine jewelry. I know you want to honor that by taking great care of your jewelry so it will look beautiful for years to come.

REMOVING

I recommend removing jewelry (especially rings) when you plan to do things such as gardening, packing & moving boxes or furniture, doing the dishes, exercising, etc. Personally, I also remove my jewelry before showering and sleeping to avoid interactions with shampoos / soaps and for comfort.

CLEANING

Keeping your jewelry clean helps to extend its life. I recommend using a soft cloth or toothbrush, dipped in warm soapy water. Gently scrub the metal and be careful around prongs. Try to avoid commercial chemical-based jewelry cleaning solutions, they are not safe for all jewelry.

You can also use jewelry cloths that are pre-treated with polish. I recommend Sunshine brand.

A satin finish on jewelry will gradually become shiny over time thru normal wear. You can always contact me or another jeweler to have your satin finish restored.

STORING

When you’re not wearing your jewelry, please store it in a safe and organized space. Close the clasps on your chains to avoid constant tangling as it can weaken the links. One piece of jewelry per jewelry pouch is a good rule of thumb when you are traveling.
